About this class
Shibashi literally means 'eighteen postures'. It is a modern qigong form that blends the graceful, continuous movement of tai chi with qigong's breath and intention. Practised by millions across China, Malaysia and Indonesia, it is often recommended by tai chi and qigong teachers as the ideal form for beginners because it is easy to learn, deeply pleasurable to repeat and safe for almost every body.
The First Set is particularly focused on opening the meridian channels in the arms and upper body, softening the shoulders, and encouraging qi to flow in harmony through the whole system. At just thirty minutes, this Friday-morning class is the easiest one to commit to. Roll out of bed, log on, move, and start your last working day of the week already settled.
