Why qigong

Connected movement — a practice for the whole of you

Qigong involves simple movements paired with calm breathing and anyone can get something out of it, whatever your age or mobility. It is often described as easier than tai chi — no long, complex forms to memorise, just gentle, flowing movements that deliver many of same wellbeing benefits. Practised regularly, it's known to change how you feel, how your body feels, how you feel in your body, and how you meet your life.

How qigong could help your body:

  • Feel stronger and steadier on your feet
  • Improve balance, coordination and posture
  • Have more energy through the day
  • Deeper, better-quality sleep
  • Support healing and recovery
  • Ease the peri-menopause journey
  • Gentle exercise that meets your body where it is

How qigong can help mind and spirit

  • Cope with anxiety and overwhelm
  • Settle a busy mind and manage stress
  • Cultivate and circulate your qi — your life energy
  • Concentrate better and think more clearly
  • Feel more creative and open
  • Support recovery from addiction
  • Find community and belonging

Attending Claudia's qigong class is an absolute treat for the mind, body and spirit. She holds space beautifully with lovely visualisations and breathing whilst encouraging movement to the best of everyone's abilities. I've been to many different types of classes and Claudia's is by far the best — so welcoming, and I leave feeling blissed out.

Had a wonderful hour of Qi Gong underneath an ancient oak tree on Downley Common. Claudia was a great teacher, explaining the moves simply and giving us options, it was fun, lighthearted and extremely energising — I would definitely recommend.

When I first started Qigong, I was made to feel very welcome and Claudia gave very clear instructions on the movements and breathing. Her visualisation was superb. I highly recommend Qigong to anybody of any age — I've learnt techniques to deal with stress that I can use day to day.

Many thanks for having these sessions. Claudia is a fantastic facilitator — she listens, notices and holds the group very well, and makes the session fun while still making it very effective.

Over the years I've tried many things to help with my stress and anxiety, I can truly say that Qigong is the one thing that has helped me. At the end of the class I feel extremely relaxed and well, my mind and body just feel lighter. The only regret I have is that I did not discover Qigong years ago.

These Qigong classes are welcoming and friendly. I love every session and am so happy to have found a space where I can connect with movement and mindfulness in ways that actually make sense. Claudia is supportive and inclusive in how the movements are explained, always offering different ways they can be achieved. The LGBTQ+ sessions provide a space to gently connect to community.

Claudia's online classes have made Qigong accessible to me. The classes are inclusive to LGBTQI+ people and people with disabilities and it's a lovely community to be part of in addition to the benefits to my physical health.

We were so lucky to discover Claudia while searching for a Qi Gong teacher for our wellness retreat. From the moment we connected, her warm energy and genuine passion for this beautiful practice shone through. We were thrilled when she agreed to join us for our first retreat in June and her closing session in the warm sunshine in the garden was absolutely magical. Our guests were left elated, grounded, and mesmerized.

I've been attending Claudia's classes for just over a year and have benefited enormously. I come away feeling both relaxed and energised. I particularly enjoy that the movements in the sessions change according to the season and the needs of the group. I have even been motivated to add an additional Qigong session to my week by following the recording Claudia can also supply, and do some of the energising movements to start my day on a daily basis. I would thoroughly recommend Claudia's classes.

I was introduced to Claudia's Qigong classes last year by a friend. I really appreciate Claudia's gentle, thoughtful, imaginative approach. I've been put off courses in the past by slightly pious, pompous tutors. There is none of that with Claudia, she's good humoured and down to earth in a kindly, generous way. I'm really looking forward to the next set of sessions.

After completing a Qi Gong course with Claudia, I noticed a noticeable effect on my mood. I felt more relaxed, mindful and flexible. It was a great chance to be social, to be grounded (barefoot outdoor practice). Tea and oils were also included! Highly recommended and looking forward to connecting again!

I can't recommend Claudia's qigong classes highly enough. She is a marvellous teacher, and well-qualified. Personally, I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and find these classes very calming, relieving stress and great for lowering blood pressure.

Claudia is superb. Helps with the visualisation and guides through so you can engage with the various movements. I have been going for a few months and it really helps with calming sessions and Claudia is excellent at asking if you need to work on a certain point of your self and adapting. I would highly recommend.

Claudia provided outstanding physical activity resources for older adult Qi Gong inspired movements for health and wellbeing. The content was well planned, provided with easy to follow and understand descriptions so that they could be translated to a format for training staff in the care sector.

We would thoroughly recommend working with Claudia. Her Qigong sessions have been popular with residents and staff. She's a great teacher - calm, focused, with a gentle sense of humour, and is able to tailor her sessions with understanding and kindness. Here at Brighton Housing Trust's Shore House we have many residents dealing with serious mental health diagnoses, as well as histories of addiction and trauma. They have all reported a sense of increased wellbeing and resilience following qigong sessions with Claudia. We're proud to work with her, and look forward to working with her on an ongoing basis.

Claudia taught some Qigong classes at our befriending group. She adapted the classes to suit the participants (most of which were over 70 years old). She has a calm and warm energy and we all felt like we were in safe hands. Qigong was new to my group, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
